Highlights:

  • Re-design of the sign-in page and the pages available when the developer is signed in (‘My apps’ and ‘Details’) in line with the Orange brand.
  • Improvements to filters in the API catalogue, particularly for multi-level filters.
  • Reinforcement of developer account security.
  • Refinement of the B2B customer onboarding experience and the subscription to paid-for network APIs, in preparation of the launch of the Network API monetisation MVP.
Technical steps towards the Network API MVP (21/11/2024)
  • Tab-based navigation within API sheets has been replaced by a vertical menu on the left
  • Improved API search, with the possibility to filter APIs according to API family, category, geography, Orange entity, etc. (feature to be activated shortly)
  • B2B customers will soon be able to subscribe to network APIs and manage their billing details (to be activated for the launch of the Network API MVP)
Improvements to the API documentation display and blog recommendations (18/09/2024)
  • API references are now displayed in Rapidoc format by default, but it is still possible to switch to Swagger UI format if preferred.
  • A new ‘Recommended for you’ selection of APIs appears on catalogue and editorial pages.
Improvements to the Developer support chain (27/05/2024)
  • A ‘Contact us‘ button on each API sheet for getting in touch with the API provider directly for technical or commercial questions.
  • A banner appears on Orange Developer to inform about ongoing incidents or to announce planned maintenance.
  • Improvements to webpage components, including social sharing feature.
  • Indication of the authentication type for each API subscription in My apps > Details.
  • Developer account security improvements, including the need to change one’s password every 12 months.
Multi-Authorization Server and multi-credential capabilities, measures to reinforce security for Developer accounts, and further steps in the re-design of our Orange Developer portal pages (28/03/2024)
  • Multi-Authorization Server / Multi-credential capacity:
    • For improved security, our service now handles multiple sets of credentials. This has no immediate impact on existing applications. However, developers with applications which are concerned by this new measure will need to contact us at support.dev@orange.com to update their application.
    • Following this release, if a developer subscribes their application to an API which uses an Authorization Server which is different to the one(s) already used by their application, then this will generate an additional set of credentials which will have to be integrated into the application’s code.
  • ‘Delete my account’ feature: developers can now delete their own Orange Developer account via their profile page (providing that all applications and subscriptions have been removed beforehand)
  • Reinforced Developer account security
    • Reinforced account creation and ‘forgot password’ processes
    • Number of unsuccessful portal access attempts limited, along with the implementation of a cooling-off period before further attempts are possible
  • New design of some pages, for more clarity and better alignment with the Orange brand guidelines, including:
    • New design and structure of the homepage
    • Clearer sign-up page
    • New design of API summary cards
    • New design of blog articles.
Increased security for Developer accounts (23/01/2024)
  • More robust password criteria (minimum 12 characters, different from previous password)
  • Reinforced password process (shorter expiry of email validation link, compulsory log-in after password reset)
  • Adjustments to the ‘Sign-up’ process. New developers are no longer required to make a choice between “I’m an independent” and “I work for a company”
Improved access to Support and Contact information (11/12/2023)
  • A new-look ‘Contact us’ page and associated form
  • API product versions now appear in search results to avoid duplicate listings
A new API Reference format for Developers (13/09/2023)
  • The API reference documentation is now available in Rapidoc format (and is still available in Swagger UI format). Developers can switch from one format to the other via a new tab.
Minor changes for Developers (30/06/2023)
  • The word ‘Orange’ has been removed from the Orange Developer portal presentation banners / horizontal menus. The word ‘Orange’ is now represented by the Orange logo itself. This is in line with the Orange brand guidelines.
  • For each API, the API’s name now includes the version number (in order to avoid duplicate listings e.g. in search results).
  • The statistics block has been removed from the ‘App details’ pages (this is a temporary measure since a log storage capacity problem prevents providing pertinent statistics at the moment).
