What they do

Kdan Mobile Software develops mobile apps for Apple, Android and Windows operating systems.

What they do with us

The company integrated the Orange Cloud API to its Pocket Scanner app to expand users’ storage options and facilitate use by Orange customers.

The results

The API opened Kdan’s storage capacity of scanned files to millions of Orange customers who could automatically tie the Pocket Scanner app to their Orange accounts.

How Kdan offered its pocket scanner to millions of Orange customers

Founded in 2009, Kdan Mobile Software develops mobile apps for Apple, Android and Windows operating systems, racking up over 30 million downloads and counting over 5 million monthly active users.  Not to mention, its apps have been featured on the App Store Homepage in over 80 countries.

Kdan Assistant Marketing Manager Frank Lin sat down with us to discuss Orange Cloud API integration with Pocket Scanner, the app which transforms a smartphone into a multipurpose scanner.

The challenge

Pocket Scanner had already garnered relative international success before we began working with Orange. But we were looking to take the app’s native qualities to the next level by tying it to a powerful cloud storage service. We also wanted to ensure that the integration process would be relatively simple and efficient, as we’re involved in many different projects at once.

The results

The Orange Cloud API allowed us to open the storage capacity of scanned files to millions of Orange customers, already a major bonus over other cloud services. Those customers could automatically tie the Pocket Scanner app to their Orange accounts, making for a seamless experience.

One of the keys to the success of this partnership was the ease with which our developers integrated the Orange Cloud API. Thanks to sample code available online [available publicly on Github] and dedicated Orange support staff, the integration took only a few days. We were really excited to see everything fall into place so quickly, and after testing we were ready to publish a new version of the app almost immediately. The process extended our app’s reach without much effort on our part, which is a major plus.

Next steps

We’re looking to add new features to Pocket Scanner based on user feedback and the power of the cloud. Our team is also gearing up for the next big update that will bring a new user experience to our customers. Of course, we look forward to working with the Orange team in the near future!
