“Do you have more APIs?” : Trusted Interactions, the Orange VivaTech demo that made trust measurable

It started as a casual question at the booth. Then it became the line we heard again and again:

“Do you have more APIs?”

Not because visitors wanted a longer catalog. Because they had just seen something rare at VivaTech: a demo that made trust feel operational, something you can apply to a customer journey and measure in minutes.

The demo was built around two moments everyone recognizes:

At Orange LiveNet, the key lesson was counterintuitive but powerful: two Network APIs were better understood when demonstrated together, because the audience could follow a complete end-to-end story rather than a list of capabilities. Visitors didn’t need jargon. They reacted to outcomes:

  • From ~1 minute sign-up to ~30 seconds with Number Verification
  • From 23 taps + 16 digits entered down to ~6 taps with Number Verification
  • From ~17% call answer rate up to ~50% with branded calling

And it scaled on the booth: ~100 demo pitches and ~150 contacts captured, because the story stayed simple and end-to-end.

The “Firebase moment”: why developers leaned in faster

Orange announced that Firebase Phone Number Verification is live with Orange France, and Firebase describes carriers as a “source of truth” for verified phone numbers, making it directly relevant for smoother sign-up journeys.
