Terms & Conditions – Network APIs Drone Challenge

ARTICLE 1 – ORGANIZATION OF THE COMPETITION

Orange, a French société anonyme, with share capital of 10 640 226 396 euros, registered with the Commercial Trade and Companies Registry under the number 380 129 866 RCS Nanterre, having its registered office at 111, quai du Président Roosevelt 92130 Issy-les-Moulineaux, France, for the purpose of this Competition (as defined below) with offices at Orange Gardens, 40- 48 avenue de la République, Châtillon (92 320), France, takes part in the Devoxx 2024 event with, notably, demonstration areas and on-site personnel (hereafter referred to as “Orange”).

Orange organizes the Network APIs Drone Challenge. This event is tailored specifically for developers eager to push the boundaries of innovation. (the “Competition”).

ARTICLE 2 – PURPOSE OF THE COMPETITION

The aim of the competition is for Participants to answer three questions through a dedicated API, leveraging the Orange Network APIs available on the Orange Developer’s dedicated webpage : Network APIs - Orange Developer

“Orange Network APIs” are standardized interfaces offering agility, flexibility, and innovation, enabling developers to leverage real-time network data without needing deep telecommunications expertise. Part of the GSMA Open Gateway Initiative and Linux Foundation’s CAMARA open-source project, Orange provides a set of secure and compliant Network APIs across various geographies, empowering developers to build next-generation applications.

ARTICLE 3 – PARTICIPATION PROCESS AND SCHEDULE

The Competition is free and without any purchase obligation.

The Competition is open to all individuals:

(i)               who have the age required by law in their country of residence to enter this competition,

(ii)              who have IT skills, technical skills, design skills, or marketing skills, and

(iii)            who have their own computer hardware in working order throughout the duration of the Competition.

(iv)            Who are participating to the Devoxx France event

(hereafter referred to as “Candidates”).

Every person wishing to participate to the competition needs to create an Orange Developer account and register to the Camara Quizz API avaible here once logged in Orange Developer : Camara Quizz (1.0) API – Overview – Orange Developer

Employees of Orange and/or its affiliates, and members of their families, as well as anyone who has directly or indirectly contributed to the conception, organization, or realization of the Competition, are ineligible to take part in the Competition.

Each registration in the Competition is individual, and only one registration per person is allowed during the entire duration of the Competition.

Phase 1: Registration process

●       Dates: 16th to 18th of April 2025

●       Place: Online. Candidates can register online via the dedicated API website for the Competition at the following address https://developer.orange.com/apis/api-drone-challenge/ Candidates will be need to register to Orange Developer and subscribe to the event APIs to participate.

●       Purpose: Candidates shall provide the following information: last name, first name, address, phone number, email, company, as suggested on the abovementioned website. This information is required for the completion of their application.

Each Candidate warrants that the information provided at the time of his/her application to the Competition is complete and accurate. Any false, incorrect, or incomplete information will automatically result in the application being rejected.

Phase 2: Play the game

●       Dates: 16th to 18th of April 2025 at 6PM

●       Place: Orange booth at Devoxx France 2025

●       Purpose: Participants will get onsite support to help them with the onboarding process to ensure they have all the necessary information to play the game.

ARTICLE 4 – DETERMINATION OF WINNERS

The first prize will be awarded at the Orange booth after a draw on Thursday evening at 6:30 PM! Additionally, there are tickets for Orange events and credits for production APIs up for grabs. All participants can check the completion status of the challenge on the https://levelup.livenet.orange.com/ Website.

ARTICLE 5 – PRIZES AWARDED

The Competition is endowed with the following prizes:

●       1st prize: A DJI Mini 3 drone valued 499€

●       2nd prize: Places for Orange events

●       3rd prize: Credits to consume Orange production APIs

The gained prizes are not exchangeable Orange reserve the right, if circumstances so require, to replace the prizes with others of equivalent value, without liability being incurred thereby.

ARTICLE 6 – PRIZE ALLOCATION

Prizes will be sent by Orange to the winners to the address indicated by the winners.

If the address of a winner is unusable (illegible, incomplete, or erroneous), the latter will lose the profit of its prize.

In addition, Orange cannot be held liable because of an error of routing of the prize, the loss of the prize during shipment, or inability to contact a winner.

ARTICLE 7 – COMPENSATION

Participant waives all of his/her claims regarding compensation against Orange due to his/her participation to the Competition (in particular with regards to costs incurred for participation such as transport, accommodation, etc.

ARTICLE 8 – MODIFICATION, INTERRUPTION AND TERMINATION OF THE COMPETITION

Orange shall not be deemed to have failed in their obligations hereunder and will not be liable for damages if the performance of the Competition or its content are amended, shortened, cancelled, delayed or modified, in whole or in part, by an event of force majeure or any cause beyond Orange’s control. Is considered as a case of force majeure, any fact or event that meets the definition of the French Civil Code or that has been considered as such by a court.

In case of a modification to the Terms, cancellation or interruption of the Competition, or a reduction or an extension of its length, Orange waive all liability and Participants will not be entitled to any compensation.

ARTICLE 9 – FRAUD

Orange may cancel all or part of participations in the Competition if it appears that fraud has occurred in any form whatsoever, in particular computer fraud, during the Competition. Orange reserve, in this case, the right not to award prizes to fraudsters, to disqualify the concerned prototype project and/or to bring actions against the authors of these frauds. Orange shall not incur any responsibility towards the Participants because of the committed frauds.

Furthermore, Orange cannot be liable in case of damage, whether material or immaterial, caused during the Competition and thereafter, to the Participants, to their computing equipment, or to the data, including consequences which may ensue from it on their personal, professional or commercial activity.

ARTICLE 10 – PROTECTION OF PERSONAL DATA

Orange, acting as Data Controller, processes Participants’ personal data when they participate in the Competition. The processing of personal data of Participant(s) by Orange is primarily intended to ensure that the Competition will be properly completed and to select the candidates, provide the necessary support and send prizes to the winners.

Orange as Data Processor. The collection and processing of personal data relating to the Participant by Orange is primarily intended to ensure that the Competition will be properly completed and to allow Orange to contact the winner and, if the case arises, to publish the list of the winners.

The personal data collected are:

  • identification data (last name, first name, e-mail, and phone number, company ...),
  • motivation of the Participant to participate in the Competition.

Participant’s personal data will be used solely for the purposes of managing the Competition and will be handled in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Participants have the right to access, update and/or obtain deletion of their data. To exercise their rights, Participants can email Orange by justifying their identity at: developer.contact@orange.com.

ARTICLE 11 - RESPONSIBILITY

Orange shall not be made responsible if Participants cannot connect to the website of the event due to a technical fault or in the event of any problem linked namely and not exclusively to (1) network overload ; (2) an electric or human error (3) any malicious intervention ; (4) an issue related to a phone line ; (5) an issue related to hardware or software ; (6) a hardware or software malfunction ; (7) a case of emergency ; (8) disruptions that may affect the smooth running of the Competition.

 

It is the Participant’s responsibility to take the appropriate measures to protect his/her own data and/or software located on his/her computer equipment, against any violation. The Participant’s connection to the event websites and their participation in the Competition is made under their own sole responsibility. Orange shall not be held responsible for any infection by potential viruses on the Participant’s computer equipment, or of the intrusion of a third party on their system.

Orange reserve the right to exclude any Participant or person disrupting the Competition’s smooth running. They reserve the right to use any recourse, including suing anyone suspected of cheating, falsifying, or disrupting the process described in the Terms, or suspected of trying to accomplish such actions.  Any Participant deemed by Orange to have disrupted the Competition in any of the ways stated above, will be deprived of the right to obtain any prize, and no claim will be accepted consequently.

Participants remain solely and entirely responsible for the damages caused by them or their equipment to goods or people during the competition. They see to covering their risks by their own insurance and renounce any right to resort to Orange in that respect.

ARTICLE 12 – APPLICATION OF THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS

This document is accessible on the event website https://developer.orange.com/apis/api-drone-challenge/ the full duration of the Competition.

Participation in the Competition implies full and unreserved acceptance of these terms and conditions (the “Terms”). Any modification of the Terms or the Competition shall be communicated to the Participant by email and become effective on such date. Any Candidate or Participant is deemed to have accepted it by the mere fact of its participation in the Competition, from the effective date of the modification. Any Candidate or Participant refusing the change(s) shall be deemed to waive its right to participating to the Competition.

Participation in the Competition is strictly personal, and the Participant cannot, under any circumstances, be replaced. Any claim relating to the Competition will be barred after the period of 6 (six) months from the deadline for participation stipulated in Article 3.

ARTICLE 13 – INSURANCE

Orange and the Participant shall take out and/or maintain in force throughout the term of the Competition insurance policies adequately covering the risks incurred and caused to property and persons in connection with the performance of the Competition.
