  • How is Location Retrieval different from GPS location-based service?

Device Location Retrival API focuses on providing the location of a device using network cell tower data, in the form of latitude and logitude coordonates, whereas GPS location-based services are designed to determine and provide the precise, real-time geographic coordinates of a device's current position.

GPS has limitations in areas where signals are obstructed or weakened, such as tunnels, dense urban environments with tall buildings (urban canyons), or indoor locations. In these areas, GPS signals can be blocked, reflected, or weakened, leading to reduced accuracy or inability to determine the device's position. To overcome these challenges, Location Verification API uses network cell tower to verify device location accuracy in such environments or others.

  • How is Location Verification different from Location Retrieval?

Device Location Verification API and Device Location Retrieval API are two related but distinct CAMARA APIs. Device Location Verification API involves confirming whether a device is at a specific, claimed location, using network operator data to ensure the authenticity of the location. In contrast, Device Location Retrieval API focuses on determining and obtaining the current geographic position of a device through cell tower data.

While Location Verification answers the question, "Is this location correct or legitimate?" Location Retrieval answers, "What is the current location?" Both processes are essential in different contexts, such as security, navigation, and location-based services.

  • What is the accuracy expected from Location Retrieval service?

    TBD

  • What is a sandbox API ?

Our Sandbox APIs provide a secure testing environment where you can experiment without affecting real-world data. This allows for safe experimentation and testing of the API's features using fictitious or limited data.

You can make API calls that return responses, which may come from our lab infrastructure or be simulated, enabling you to test integrations and functionalities in a controlled setting.

  • What is a trial API ?

Our Trial APIs operate in a live production environment but come with specific limitations to allow you to explore their functionalities without full commitment. They are designed for you to preview features and test integrations while adhering to certain constraints.

You can access real data and functionalities, but with restrictions on the number of API calls, types of recipients, or duration of use. This allows for practical testing in a real-world context.

  • What is a production API ?

Our Production APIs operate in a live environment, delivering real-time data and full functionality. They are intended for use in your actual applications and services, providing you with the tools needed for operational deployment.

You can access complete API functionalities and real datasets, enabling you to build and deploy applications that rely on live data.
